SLU-PP-332

SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic estrogen receptor-related orphan receptor (ERR) agonist that enhances aerobic exercise performance by amplifying metabolic responses and boosting energy expenditure, resulting in faster body fat metabolism. It improves mitochondrial function and cellular respiration in skeletal muscle cells, increases the expression of the ERR target gene pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 4 (Pdk4), and enhances exercise endurance by increasing oxidative muscle fibers. By activating ERRs, SLU-PP-332 stimulates critical metabolic pathways in various tissues, including cardiac and brain cells, making it a promising compound for transforming fitness and facilitating weight loss. Importantly, no significant side effects were noted in experimental studies, suggesting a favorable safety profile, and this mini-review explores its potential clinical applications, including kidney protective effects.
